If you were a customer of Cablevision in New York on Sunday, you might have had a nail biting day, waiting with bated breath for the start of the Academy Awards. Disney had pulled its ABC signal from Cablevision early on Sunday over a retransmission rights dispute, and it didn’t appear to be backing down. Would the signal come back on? Would they miss the dresses?

EC grants approval, OFT withdraws request, consumer groups fume
Last month FBTVN reported that the merger between Orange and T-Mobile was likely to be delayed, as the UK’s Office of Fair Trading had put in a request to the European Commission to allow it further scrutiny of the deal. Well this has proved wrong, with the EC approving the deal this week, and the OFT quietly getting on with other matters.
